Brtivics Ballygowan Newcastle West Facility 9 1536X1498

Britvic Ireland marks ongoing sustainability commitment with orchard planting

Britvic Ireland employees took part in an orchard‑planting initiative at Ballygowan’s Newcastle West facility, underscoring the company’s continued commitment to biodiversity and sustainability.

The event coincides with the launch of Ballygowan Hint of Fruit Apple, now available in selected retailers across Ireland. The new flavour joins the existing Ballygowan Hint of Fruit range, which includes Strawberry, Summer Fruits, and Mango & Passion Fruit.

As part of the initiative, 16 pollinator‑friendly native apple trees were planted on-site—an enhancement to the facility’s broader sustainability efforts. These already include the use of 100% renewable electricity sourced from a wind farm in Tipperary.

The Newcastle West site is also recognised as an official Area of Conservation for the native black honeybee. This follows the installation of five colony beehives last May to mark World Bee Day, further strengthening Britvic’s commitment to protecting local biodiversity.
