1966: Agreement to build in Kylemore Park, Ballyfermot

In 1966, Rex Dick (RHS), MD of Thwaites Group, signed the contract for the new factory with David McIlvenna, MD of McIlvenna & Sons Ltd, the building contractors.

The 3 factories (MWD, Schweppes Ireland & Taylor Keith) were old, dilapidated and badly needed investment.  Dublin City Centre had become very congested with traffic.

Thwaites Group sold all 3 sites in town to finance the building of a state-of-the-art new Factory at Kylemore.

They consolidated all their production to Kylemore and became part of the C&C Group.
